Music intelligence 01
Music Stats
A shared product surface for playlist analysis, discovery, charts, and ISRC lookup.
Music Stats’ public product preview. My contribution
I developed Music Stats as a public product for Chartmetric, shaping focused workflows that turn complex music data into clear questions and useful answers.
Shipped result
The shipped suite showcases key Chartmetric capabilities through four complementary tools and creates a path into the main platform.
01 Context
Powerful music datasets are difficult to approach without specialist knowledge.
Music Stats packages playlist analysis, similar-song discovery, trending artists, and ISRC lookup into a coherent free product.
Working within
- Large, uneven music datasets
- Four tools with one coherent mental model
- Fast first use without onboarding friction
02 Product decisions
A familiar flow across four music tools
I used a shared flow for playlist analysis, similar-song discovery, trending artists, and ISRC lookup: provide an input, see the processing state, and explore the result. Each tool keeps the inputs and data that fit its task, while the overall interaction stays familiar.
Start with one clear music question
Each tool starts with a focused task. In Playlist Analyzer, that means entering a Spotify playlist URL or name to explore its moods, genres, and artists. The aim is to make the first step clear before introducing the detail in the data.
Make loading, gaps, and errors clear
I treated loading, no matches, partial data, and invalid identifiers as distinct parts of the experience. The interface needs to explain whether a request is still processing, has no result, or needs a corrected input, and make gaps in the available data understandable.
